            [0] => Introduction :
Osteoid osteoma is a benign bone tumor mainly located in the lower limb. Its Location at the coronoid process is exceptional, in fact only a few isolated cases are described in the literature , posing diagnostic and therapeutic problems.
Patient and observation:
We report a case of a 28-year-old basketball player, presented with mixed pain in the right elbow, partially relieved by taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs . Standard frontal and lateral radiographs of the elbow were unremarkable. The CT scan performed showed an oval lacunar image surrounding a focus of calcification producing a typical roundel appearance, with a cortical location and flush with the articular cartilage of the large sigmoid cavity of the ulna. Through an antero-internal approach to the elbow , a Complete curettage of the lesion was performed .the residual cavity filled with an autologous bone graft . Pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of osteoid osteoma. The postoperative course was simple. at 8-month follow-up the patient was pain free and able to resume his sporting activity gradually but still maintains an extension deficit of around 10 degrees.
Discussion :
Osteoid osteoma, , is a benign bone tumor .its Location at the elbow is rare and the Involvement of the coronoid process is even more exceptional. The CT scan constitutes the main examination. The successful treatment of this tumor depends on the precise identification of the nidus and its complete resection.. The evolution is marked by the possibility of recurrence, most often due to incomplete resection of the nidus.
Conclusion :
Osteoid osteoma of the coronoid process is an exceptional lesion; it is a diagnosis that should be considered when faced with unexplained elbow pain in a young athlete.
