The simultaneous rupture of both cruciate ligaments of the knee is a  rare entity; However, their single-stage bilateral rupture is not described at all, which makes our case very valuable for study and follow-up. 
Patient and observation:
A young man of 25, athletic who was the victim 3 years ago of a public road accident with point of impact at the level of both knees. The physical examination revealed a combined antero-posterior laxity of the left knee. The standard radiological assessment was normal, the MRI of the left knee revealed a bicruciate tear, while for his right knee, the MRI showed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament. Our therapeutic attitude was first to start with the most symptomatic left knee, by performing a simultaneous reconstruction of the two cruciate ligaments using the modified Lerat technique . One year later, the patient underwent a reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament alone using the half-tendinous medial technique. After one year of follow-up, the patient presented again with an instability of the right knee and the MRI  showed a distended anterior cruciate ligament with rupture of the posterior cruciate ligament; so we decided to perform another reconstruction for this knee using the modified Lerat technique. Our results were very satisfactory for both knees, and the patient no longer presents either objective or subjective laxity.
Discussion :
Simultaneous rupture of both cruciate ligaments is a rare traumatic injury. Our relevant question was how to plan therapeutic care; in a single stage or in two operating stages? 
Conclusion :
We report this extremely exceptional case of simultaneous bilateral rupture of the two cruciate ligaments of the knee by exposing our therapeutic attitude hoping to find other cases to enrich the scientific bibliography of this entity.
