            [0] => Introduction :
Echynococciasisis a cosmopolitan antropozoonosiscommon to humans and mammalspecies. The diseaseresultsfrom the development of the larval or hydatidform of the canine tenia, Echinococcusgranulosus. The psoas muscle is an uncommon location for hydatidcystthat are rarelyfound in muscles especially in the lumbar muscle, even in endemic zones.
Case report
 Our study reports the case of a 36-year-old patient withhydatidcystlocated at the left psoas muscle. Ultrasound, CT scan as well as a positive hydatidserologycontributed to the preoperativediagnosis. The patient underwentleftpararectal incision (Jalaguier). Microscopicexamination of the hydatidliquid pellet highlighted slices and manyhooksconfirming the diagnosis. The evolutionwas good with no recurrenceaftersurgicaltreatment.
CONCLUSION :
The isolatedhydatidcyst of the psoas remains a rare entity. The diagnosisisessentiallybased on ultrasound and scanner, biologyprovidesadditionalelements. The best treatmentisessentiallybased on the prevention of hydatidosiswhichunfortunately continues to beendemic in our country and represents a real social scourge.
